After you did not have breakfast, you can hear and feel, that you are hungry.
Which organ is involved?
Where in the abdomen is it located?
Describe the way of food through the body.
From the mouth the food slips through the esophagus (American English) or oesophagus (British English), commonly known as the food pipe or gullet, into the stomach. From there it enters the small intestine or small bowel.
It has three parts:
duodenum, jejunum, and ileum
where the absorption of nutrients and minerals from food takes place.
The pancreas is secreting pancreatic juice decomposing the food into ever smaller parts.
Primary bile acids, synthesized by the liver, are needed in fat absorption.
The liver removes toxins from the blood, processes and stores nutrients and forms the bile acids.
Than the food moves through the large intestine, also called large bowel or colon. Water is absorbed here.
This process is called digestion.
The remaining waste material is stored as feces before being removed by defecation through the anus.
Having a cough|
Describe how and where you have pain.
Which organ is infected?
Our lungs - we need them to get our oxygen!
"I have to go..."
You have to go to the toilet and need to pee urgently.
Which organs are involved? Where are they located in the abdomen?
The kidneys clean the blood of waste materials.
They are dissolved in water, passed to the bladder and excreted with the urine.
